Fertile plains
The wonderful plains of Kabardino Balkaria, with their fertile black volcanic soil, and just harvested crop.
The sanctions against Russia are probably hitting the upper/elite classes in Moscow and San Petersburg, but they are helping significantly the economy of Kabardino Balkaria and elsewhere, as the price spikes for vegetables have rendered local agriculture economically viable once again.
The republic is becoming an open air garden, filled with vast stretches of grain, apples, and much more, and travelling there tells the story of a rich land and of people proud of becoming farmers again.
